We would like to invite the Botany Group members to coffee/tea and muffins/coffee cake on our beach (sitting on the logs) at 10.00 am on Monday July 27th, and then we will drive to Little River Nature Park to walk around the ponds and then walk along the Little River. The focus at the ponds will be the aquatic plants – pond lilies, water shield, pondweed, bur-reed and a new plant that I have identified, water-purslane, Ludwigia palustris.

As there is no walk planned for tomorrow Monday July 20th 2015, I thought I would lead a short walk nearby, and look at some of the Garry Oaks (and associated plants) right here in the valley. Because of the heat, I’d like to meet early at 9:00 a.m. Meeting place is at the Vanier Recreation Centre (also known as the Comox Valley Sports Centre) at 3001 Vanier Dr, Courtenay. Joel
