Four cyclists spent two days touring the trees nominated for Tree of the Year 2023. One route took them through north Courtenay to the two trees at the CVEG grounds, trees in east Courtenay and then to the red cedar at Seal Bay. Another day found them starting with the two downtown Courtenay trees, followed by Morrison Creek, Cumberland, then Royston for a rest stop and ending with the tree at Courtenay Marina Park. They learned about trees new to them and saw with new eyes trees passed by many times without thought, then they voted for their favourite! The deadline for voting fast approaches on May 31st. You can tour the trees all year but if you are ready to vote, please do: comoxvalleynaturalist.bc.ca/tour-the-nominees-for-tree-of-the-year-2023/ ... See MoreSee Less
