Botany Outing Report: Kin Beach, Apr. 8,2013

Approximately 15 naturalists attend a botany outing to Kin Beach on a lovely sunny spring day. The plants identified were:
Flowering plants : common chickweed, little western bittercress, pale spring beauty, red stem spring beauty, miner’s lettuce, shepherd’s cress, common draba, blue-eyed Mary, gold star, slender toothwort, pink twink, dwarf owl clover, electrified cats tail moss, English daisy, tall Oregon grape.
Not yet flowering plants: fawn lilies, chocolate lilies, Pacific sanicle, elegant rein orchid, Indian consumption plant, yarrow, Menzies larkspur, northern wormwood, gumweed, dalmation toadflax, tansy, mugwort, fringecup, Hooker’s fairy bells.
Shrubs noted : red-flowering currant, ninebark, ocean spray, Nootka rose, cascara, snowberry, salmonberry. and many sword ferns.
