To kick off the New Year, CV Nature will be hosting a free public walk on the ‘Pub-to-Pub’ Trail from the Fishermen’s Pub on the Oyster River to Salmon Point.
The shoreline from the mouth of the Oyster River to Salmon Point is home to a rich diversity of seabirds and ducks. It is managed by the Strathcona Regional District, and is home to Woodhus Slough which is managed by Ducks Unlimited. This is an opportunity to familiarize oneself with the flora and fauna of this region and the conservation problems they are likely to face in the coming decades.
CV Nature president , Dr. Loys Maingon (RPBio) will lead this public walk. The walk is level and is about 3 km one-way. Participants uncertain of the destination should meet to carpool at Harmston at 10:00 am. Saturday January 11. The walk will start at the Trailhead at 10:30 .a.m. at the Fishermen’s Pub. Participants can then gather for lunch at Salmon Point.
