Peter Davidson will take us on a tour of the forests, grasslands and wetlands in three of the countries of the Lower Mekong: Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. He will introduce us to the diverse and spectacular avifauna of this distinctive corner of South-east Asia, and describe how conservation projects are trying to address some of the major threats to biodiversity in the region. If you're considering a winter vacation destination, this could certainly influence your decision!

Pete is a lifelong birder and professional ecologist, with an M.Sc. from the University of East Anglia in the UK. He lived and worked as an ornithologist and conservation consultant in Indochina from 1996-2005. He is now the BC Projects Coordinator for Bird Studies Canada, and has settled with his Canadian wife and their young son on the western shores of Boundary Bay on the Lower Mainland.
